Saint Olivia was born on October 9th, the year is unknown but it is said that she lived in the 9th century. She grew up and lived in Palermo, Italy. At age thirteen she was kidnapped by the Saracens and took her to Tunisia to be a slave. The Saracens were a group of Muslims from Tunisia which is know part of present day Libya. They let her stay in a cave near the city because of her beauty and morality. At the age of ninety three the Saracens found out that she was converting the Muslims into Christians. She then was put into a dungeon, unable to see daylight and without any food. The Saracens then whipped her until every inch of her skin had been damaged. She was then put into a tub of boiling oil, however she was not hurt by being put into the oil so they burned and beheaded her. She died for her faith and wasn't ashamed of being a Christian. She is one of the patron saints of music. Her feast day is on June 10th.
